SEN/D music twilight for teachers Gloucestershire

Are you a teacher who wants to support students with SEN/D in your school to make music? You don’t have to be a teacher in a special school – or a music specialist – to come along to our next SEN/D music twilight session on Tuesday 25 April, 4.30-6/6.30, at The Milestone School, Gloucester.

We’ll be hearing from Barry Farrimond of OpenUp Music about the inclusive youth orchestras that are being set up across the UK – and also about South West Open Youth Orchestra which has regional rehearsals at the National Star Centre near Cheltenham. There’ll also be opportunities for you to share your experiences, knowledge and ideas – and have really valuable conversations with your colleagues in other schools. You sometimes get to play with bananas too.

These sessions are open to all SEN/D teachers, including music leads as well as other teachers, and could potentially make a significant difference to the accessibility and reach of music in your schools.

To book, contact lholder@themusicworks.org.uk as soon as possible.

Supported by Make Music Gloucestershire, the county’s music education hub.
