Young musicians aged 14-18 from Gloucestershire who are keen to make things happen to raise their profile, and develop and promote the scene, are getting together at The Cavern, College Street, Gloucester next Wednesday 11 January, from 5-6pm.
Dan Kostine (featured in the video and audio below) and Dan Ackland are two young producers/DJs who are spearheading the first of a series of regular get-togethers. The two Dans had an idea to arrange a networking event this March to raise the profile of young Gloucestershire-based producers/DJs, along with musicians of other genres who are interested in collaborating. This will be ahead of a bigger event / gig in the summer. They and the wider group of young musicians are being supported by The Music Works, a Gloucestershire-based charity; and Make Music Gloucestershire, the county’s music education hub, as part of a Youth Voice in Music initiative for the county.
The event next Wednesday will be focused on plans for the March event, as well as discussions about other ideas for young people and music in Gloucestershire.
Whether you’re a musician interested in making things happen, raising your profile, learning more about the industry; or someone who loves music and wants to help promote it, or lend your ideas and skills, everyone’s welcome.
